BWS Celebrates Mardi Gras With ‘Pride’ Stores

In celebration of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival this weekend, BWS is excited to create six BWS ‘Pride’ stores throughout the Sydney Metro area.

BWS Darlinghurst and Paddington – which are situated at the start and end of the parade – have been selected as two of the six ‘Pride’ stores and are wrapped in rainbow colours to celebrate the festival.

Guy Brent, BWS GM said: “I am a passionate believer in equality in our workplace and am committed to ensuring a welcoming and inclusive experience for our customers that reflect their local communities.

“As part of Woolworths Group, our 2020 Corporate Strategy commitment is to ‘Achieve Gold Tier employer status in Australian Workplace Equality Index for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex inclusion. Creating the BWS ‘Pride’ stores is one of the ways we can broadcast our stance on equality.”

BWS have also partnered with Pandora to create a BWS Pride Radio station.

The Station, brought to you by Pandora, will be streamed across the BWS ‘Pride’ stores and available to Pandora customers.

Brent continued: “We were initially drawn to Pandora for their brand values and flexibility to curate stations to individual stores. It was a no brainer to evolve our partnership to celebrate Mardi Gras.”

As Pandora’s first Australian retail partner, BWS has been customising playlists stations across the nation since 2014. This is the first-time Australia’s largest drinks retailer will be using the partnership in celebration of Mardi Gras.

Additionally, the ‘Pride’ stores have BWS Pride Radio on Pandora streamed in store, flyers on counter promoting ‘BWS Pride’ on Pandora, A0 posters outside of store celebrating Mardi Gras and a BWS Pride wristband GWP available in store on selected products.
