Bondi Hipsters And Ian Thorpe Star In Latest Optus Olympics Campaign

Telco giant Optus has released the second (albeit slightly bizarre) instalment of its sponsorship of the Olympic Games. This time using the Bondi Hipsters to promote its #FanUpAUS campaign alongside ambassador Ian Thorpe.

The campaign is by Emotive and We Are Social, and regularly veers to the odd and surreal.

This second instalment follows on from last week’s launch that featured SBS’s Lee Lin Chin and encouraged Aussies to share a message of support with the Australian Olympic team as they kick off the #FanUpAUS campaign with Optus.

Optus said of the campaign: “As fans across Australia use the #FanUpAUS hashtag, messages will be collected by Optus throughout the Games and displayed within the Olympic Village at ‘The Edge’ – a facility where Olympians, friends and family will meet – ensuring the country’s support is felt when needed most.

“Get behind the Australian Olympic team and share your message of support with the hashtag #FanUpAUS. The athletes are counting on you.”
