Balls Up! McDonald’s St Patrick’s Day Ad Shows A Scotsman In England

Each year McDonald’s in the US unveil a new product line for St Patrick’s Day on March 17th. Typically its green, minty and largely unappetising.

This year’s Irish-themed menu item is the Shamrock Shake – a minty take on its thick shakes.

However, a teaser on Twitter for the product clearly shows its US ad agency has little idea of the British Isles. Check it out here.

Under the word ‘instrumint’, a ginger-bearded chap is seen playing his Shamrock Shake like a set of bagpipes – an instrument traditionally associated with the Scots not the Irish. The man is also wearing tartan and is standing in front of Stonehenge – England’s most famous ancient monument.

Yes, and as you’d expect, Macca’s customers have taken to Twitter to vent over the geographical inaccuracies.
