AppNexus, independent advertising technology company, today announced a commercial agreement with Le Figaro Group, the largest digital publisher in France and owner of the venerable daily newspaper, Le Figaro.

Under the terms of the partnership, Le Figaro Group will adopt the AppNexus Publisher Suite, including its Publisher Ad Server, Supply Side Platform (SSP), and Yieldex Analytics, a market-leading suite of forecasting and analytics tools that enable publishers to increase revenue and yield.

The deal represents an important strategic engagement for AppNexus and a major expansion of the company’s European publisher technology business.

“We are deeply honoured that Le Figaro has selected AppNexus as its technology partner,” said Brian O’Kelley, CEO of AppNexus. “Le Figaro is one of the most sophisticated and data-driven media companies in Europe, and we look forward to helping them unlock the full potential of their business through the power of programmatic advertising.”

Aurore Domont, president of advertising, Le Figaro said, “The sophistication of AppNexus’ platform is a natural complement to our data-driven strategy to grow our business and control our own destiny.

“By combining the ability to perfectly execute the most particular branding campaigns for our advertisers with an absolute understanding of our needs as a leading premium publisher, the AppNexus Publisher Suite allows us to drive meaningful business outcomes for our clients.”

As the parent company of Le Figaro newspaper and CCM Benchmark, the largest pure-play digital property in France, Le Figaro Group is ranked by Mediametrie/NetRatings the fourth-largest internet audience in France, after Google, Facebook and Microsoft, and is widely regarded for its aggressive and data-driven expansion into digital media.

“Anyone who cares about the future of independent publishing should be rooting for companies like Le Figaro,” continued O’Kelley. “Le Figaro is an example of how independent publishers can apply a sophisticated, data-driven strategy to survive and flourish in the digital age. We share a common commitment to maintaining a vibrant and competitive ecosystem for great journalism and content.”
