ACTU Launches Biggest Ad Campaign In 10 Years

Australia’s union movement has launched what it is hailing as its largest advertising campaign since its ‘Your Rights at Work’ effort from 2005 to 2007.

The Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) said the campaign (which launched last night on TV screens) will run for eight weeks and is part of a push to reform workplace laws in Australia.

The two TV ads feature the tagline ‘It’s time to change the rules, attacking big business groups and calling for more job security and higher wages for workers.

The TVCs are similar to the ones the unions aired more than 10 years ago that had a go at the federal government’s WorkChoices laws under John Howard’s reign as Prime Minister.

It’s expected that the ACTU is ploughing millions of dollars into the campaign, which also has online, print, radio, and out-of-home elements.
