Sound Alliance joins MCN

Multi Channel Network (MCN) has teamed up with youth music publisher Sound Alliance to replace rival sales house Ignite Media Brands.

The partnership means a wider pool of music and youth offering for MCN’s advertisers, including pop culture title Junkee, leading music communities inthemix and FasterLouder, gay and lesbian title Same Same, and Australian music site Mess+Noise. Sound Alliance also represents titles PitchforkNME and The Hype Machine in Australia.

Sound Alliance will join Fox International Channels, Nat Geo, Adventure and FX in the shift to MCN sales representation.

Ignite Media Brands took a series of unfortunate set-backs last year that have resulted in their termination come June.

Many of the programs from Ignite’s lost channels TV1 and SF have re-appeared on MCN owned channels.

The partnership with MCN will mean big things for Sound Alliance, “We’ve been leading the youth and music digital space for over a decade, so to combine our audience specialty with the creative power and scale of MCN makes perfect sense” said Sound Alliance CEO, Neil Ackland.

MCN will commence non-exclusive sales representation for the Sound Alliance network from 15 April.
