Solar Claus star of new alternative energy campaign

A solar power business has launched a new Christmas campaign aiming to highlight the cost-savings from the alternative energy source.

The ‘Solar Claus’ campaign for Energy Matters has seen residents in one Australia street famous for its Christmas lights a free solar system, worth nearly $5,000, to highlight how they could save $400-$600 every year.

A PR element will see media bussed to the street to interact with the residents and meet Solar Claus, an eco-friendly Santa, with $100 from each system sold going to charity Bear Cottage.

The social media element gives people the chance to have their picture with Solar Claus by uploading a snap top Facebook, and go into a draw to win a free system for their house.

The campaign video is below and the Facebook site can be viewed here.
