Sixty40 bring iconic screen duos to life again

Animation studio Sixty40 has created a collection of idents which charter a range of emotions from terrifying to charming and everything in between for New Zealand’s Sky Movies.

The 18 spots “re-discovers and expands  moments in cinema that are instantly recongisable”.

The suite of spots’ central narrative builds upon the power of iconic screen duos such as Thelma and Louise and Bonnie and Clyde.

Sixty40 creative director Mark Simpson said: “The character is just a monotone triangle yet it’s imbued with so much life,” he said.

“It’s fantastic to see how much emotion and pathos we can squeeze out of a simple shape. This series is a great mix of story telling and animation working with the music and sound.”

The sound was handled by Rumble Studios.
