Rebel gets set to kick off the footy season

Sports good retailers Rebel has launched a new campaign to mark the start of a new football season.

The ‘Be United’ campaign, created by BD Network, assembles “the ultimate dream team” with the stars of three-football codes playing a hybrid game of Aussie Rules, Rugby League and Soccer.

It features Brendon Goddard, Brent Harvey, Todd Carney, Greg Inglis, Jarryd Hayne, Emile Heskey, Cyril Rioli, Ben Barbar, Greg Bird, Kieren Jack and Lewis Jetta.

The campaign will appear on TV and will be supported by press, digital, social and in-store executions.

Rob Kain, head of marketing for Rebel, said: What young footballer hasn’t dreamt of being part of the greatest football team ever? Rebel is the only place that could bring together all the stars and all the players from all the codes with all of the world’s best sports brands. The rules are different, the balls are different, but the players, the passion and most importantly the boots, are the same. ‘Be United’ was a massive team effort on behalf of everyone involved and we’re very proud of the result.”
