EXCLUSIVE: Internationally renowned foodie event Melbourne Food and Wine Festival has appointed a new advertising partner following a competitive process.
Ogilvy Group Melbourne came out on top of the Festival’s hunt and begins work on the creative and strategy account immediately.
The STW Group agency takes over from incumbent Clemenger BBDO Melbourne whose director, Peter Clemenger, founded the Festival more than two decades ago. Clemenger BBDO created the Festival’s TVC to celebrate its 20th anniversary (below) last year.
The change of agency comes as the Festival looks for a new marketing manager.
Ogilvy was appointed due to its model which will allows the Festival “to tap into a range of different business solutions”, Natalie O’Brien, chief executive of the Festival, said.
"Ogilvy has an outstanding reputation for developing highly creative campaigns that drive strong results,” O’Brien said.
“The group has been appointed to deliver strong vision and direction for the Festival's creative as well as working with us to define our future in the digital space. We're excited to be working with them.”
Michael McEwan, general manager Badjar Ogivly, added: “The Melbourne Food and Wine Festival attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors from across Australia and the globe, and is renowned for its ability to truly showcase the strength of Victoria's food and wine.”
“We’re looking forward to further enhancing this international reputation, while developing new avenues to promote the festival and all it has to offer to locals and visitors alike.”
