Meerkats lose out in Comparethemarket's Aussie campaign

London-based insurance comparison site, Comparethemarket.com.au, has launched Down Under with a national ad campaign glaringly devoid of aristocratic meerkats.

Comparethemarket.com.au has become one of the most recognised brands in the UK over the years thanks to a rodent brand ambassador called Alexander Orlov and his manservant Sergei.

The two have starred in a series of increasingly grandiose ads for the brand since 2009.

Created by the Sydney arm of London agency VCCP, the new campaign is titled ‘We love to compare’ and introduces Australian audiences to the comparison site via simple info-graphics.

The ad outlines the company’s services including health, car and travel insurance comparison.

Zenith Optimedia is handling media while public relations is being managed by Thrive PR.
