You could lose your best friend in as little as six minutes, a campaign from RSPCA NSW says.

The campaign, created in collaboration with creative digital agency, Leafcutter drives traffic towards and online hub that poses questions about how long every day activities take.

If it takes you ten minutes to pick up your dry cleaning, your dog could already be suffering from heat stroke.

Half an hour for shopping and your poor pooch could be in danger of stroke-like symptoms.

An hour for brunch with friends, and your raucous Rover could be in serious danger.

The campaign aims to make people aware of the dangers of leaving dogs in cars, particularly on a hot day, through the online hub with an option for poppy-lovers to pledge to never leave a dog in a car again.

“As our digital partner, we went to Leafcutter for help in developing a campaign for us to celebrate our 140th year anniversary,” Marianne Zander, senior manager of communications for RSPCA NSW, said.

“They took our brief on board and worked with us to develop a strategy that gave this particular campaign the push it needed.

“Their creative ideas were spot on and they ended up developing a site that everyone was really pleased with.”

How long would it take you to lose your best friend?
