Freeview last night released a refreshed version of its ‘The Best Things in Life Are Free’ advertising campaign, one year after the original debuted.
The new edition features a ‘swing’ performance of the same 1920s song by Melbourne swing, jazz and R&B band, The Pearly Shells.
In keeping with the original, the new 60-second ad shows the performance sprinkled with clips of the most popular new shows from across the free-to-air networks.
The new version, which went to air last night, was created the consultancy behind the original, It’s The Thought That Counts. The consultancy’s Ron Mather and Christine Barnes produced the spot.
Liz Ross, general manager Freeview, said: “Freeview has received fantastic feedback on our Best Things In Life Are Free campaign since we launched in September last year, so it was logical for us to refresh the creative treatment without letting go of a song that’s proven such a hit with viewers.”
Mather added: “The cut through of the Freeview campaign has been really strong – it’s a true celebration of what Free To Air television is all about – great entertainment, absolutely free.”
The campaign will run across all Freeview networks for the next 12 months.
