Finalists of 2013 IAB Awards announced

The Monkeys and Leo Burnett Melbourne have cleaned up finalist spots for the 2013 IAB Australia Awards, taking four places each.

Close behind the two agencies were GPY&R Melbourne, Deepend, MEC, Soap Creative and AnalogFolk with three finalist spots each.

Samantha Yorke, acting chief executive IAB, said: “Our theme this year in the Awards is around bravery and there is no doubt that many of the finalists have shown the effectiveness of bravery in digital campaigns. They are to be congratulated for their efforts and I wish them all well as they vie for the much coveted winners trophies and the ultimate accolade of Best in Show."

More than a third of the finalist spots were taken by FMCG campaigns, with growth found in the Tourism, the Government sector and not-for-profit categories.

The ‘Best in Show’ of all category winners and the IAB Creative Showcase will be announced on the awards night on July 11.

Both award winners are entered into the IAB US MIXX Awards and receive flights to New York to attend the gala dinner.

Leo Burnett took out Best in Show for its ‘Australian Census’ campaign and Soap Creative was awarded Best Creative Showcase for its lynx Anarchy campaign.
