DDB Sydney beefs up creative team

DDB Sydney has partnered two recent hires to form a new creative team.

James Sexton has been appointed junior copywriter while Harry Towle will work as junior art director.

The two got the nod from executive creative director Dylan Harrison after impressing following their move last month from DDB Sydney’s business management team to the Launchpad program.

Harrison said: “New interns try hard to impress the creative directors when they’re given the chance, in the hope of a job. Two suits who’ve turned their back on the security of a regular income to try their hand as creatives? That’s a different story."

He added: “Not only do they have to prove suits can be creative to the department, they have to prove they made the right decision to the whole agency! Harry and James over delivered like men possessed. I had no choice to make, they’d earned their position as DDB creatives, three weeks before their internship was up.”

DDB has also announced the promotion of Jen Speirs to creative director.

“Her promotion is thoroughly deserved and I look forward to continuing to work with her closely,” added Harrison.

Speirs will work across Arnott’s and Johnson & Johnson while Sexton and Towle will work on briefs for the likes of McDonalds, Telstra and Volkswagen.
