Dejan Rasic, executive creative director at Sydney agency 18 Feet & Rising, has left the agency.

Rasic (pictured) was a founding partner of Colman Rasic six years ago. The agency was rebranded as 18 Feet & Rising after the London agency of the same name bought a stake in it last October.

The ECD is moving on to an as yet unannounced “new endeavour”, while 18 Feet & Rising hunts for his replacement.

He said: “I’ve had a wonderful time working with the team at 18 Feet & Rising. I’m also proud of what I’ve achieved as ECD there. However, the time has now come for a new endeavour.”

Rasic told B&T: “I’ve been doing this for six years now and I just feel like I’ve achieved a lot already in building the brand and making it creatively respectable, creating work I am proud of, and I’m in a place where I want to take on a new challenge.”

Rasic, who said he intends to continue in a similar line of work, pointed to his work for the MTV Exit Foundation and Coopers as work he is particularly proud of.

He added: “It’s hard when you’re running a business, you don’t get the opportunity to do things like travel, so that would be good. It was sad to leave 18 Feet & Rising, but exciting at the same time.”

Derrick Kim, creative director at 18 Feet & Rising, will handle Rasic’s day-to-day responsibilities until his replacement is appointed.

18 Feet & Rising CEO Ben Colman added: “Dejan has been an outstanding creative partner over the past six years and leaves a great reel behind him. The time is right and Dejan is off to seek new adventure. Everyone at 18 Feet & Rising wish him the very best of success.”

Referring to the agency’s recent acquisition of Tectonic Digital, Colman said it brings “an exciting mix of leading edge digital resources to the creative capability of the agency”. He added: “We are looking to confirm a new ECD that brings a big fresh dimension to this new offer.”
